As in your home country, not all women are the same and there are some major differences between Russian women too. Of course every person is a unique individual but to aid you in your search for a Russian bride I will make some generalizations in an attempt to categorize Russian women.

The first category is city versus country

As you can expect, a Russian woman who has spent her life in the big city will be different than a Russian woman who has grown up in the village. This is the easiest category to explain as the differences between a city Russian woman and a village Russian woman are pretty much the same as the differences between a city and village woman in your home country. The village Russian woman will have had a life more centered around home, family, home chores, and with less luxuries. That is not to say, however, that she does not aspire to a city type lifestyle.

The second category is those Russian women who were about 10 years old or older before the fall of the iron curtain in the late 1980’s versus those who are younger than that

These women would now be about 30 years old and older. These Russian women grew up in a much different environment than their younger sisters. The Soviet environment was more strict, teachers and parents were obeyed, jobs were guaranteed so there was more time to concentrate on family life, and commercialization/consumerism was almost non-existent. Thus you are more likely to find that these Russian women have more traditional values. If that is what you are looking for in a Russian bride then you should seriously consider women in this age group. The age group of 25 years to 30 years is the gray area. You will find that the Russian women under 25 years have values more similar to what you are used to at home.

The third category applies to Ukraine. “Ukrainian” Ukrainian women versus “Russian” Ukrainian women

Ukraine has two main cultures, one with a Ukrainian background and one with a Russian background. While Ukrainian women of both cultures live all over Ukraine, in general the cultures are split geographically with the “Ukrainian” women in the west half of Ukraine and the “Russian” women in the east half of Ukraine. When searching the marriage agency websites you will find that by far the vast majority of Ukrainian women profiles is that of “Russian” Ukrainian women and there are almost no “Ukrainian” Ukrainian women. The west Ukrainian women culture seems to have more emphasis on traditions/culture and family so perhaps this explains why there are not so many Ukrainian women from there interested to meet a foreigner and move abroad.

What type of Russian woman you should search for depends on what type of Russian bride suits you. If you are interested in a Russian bride with strong traditions, family-oriented, and a traditional lifestyle (kind of like the 1950’s American stay at home Mom) then a village girl, 30 years old or older, from west Ukraine is what you should search for. If you are interested in the other end of the spectrum as a Russian bride, which is probably more culturally similar to what you are used to at home, then you should search for a city girl, younger than 25 years old, and from east Ukraine.

As was stated in the beginning, every person is unique, so be careful when following generalizations.
